e’Pap

Our flagship product, e’Pap, ensures donors get the best possible nutrition to communities in need – in the most cost-effective way.

e’Pap, the nutrient-dense, pre-cooked, dried instant porridge is made from wholegrain maize and soya and fortified with 24 vitamins and minerals. Available in four flavours, banana, vanilla, strawberry and original. This choice of flavours helps alleviate menu fatigue.

The e’Pap offer:

  • Full RDA of most essential micro and trace nutrients per 100g
  • Retention of natural fatty acids – Omega 3 & 6
  • Naturally Gluten free
  • Fortified with vitamins and minerals sourced from leading international nutritional companies
  • Pre-cooked in a special process that helps protect and retain many important nutrients in the raw ingredients, together with making sure the proteins are readily digestible.
  • Unlike other porridges, e’Pap requires less grams per person per day given its nutrient dense formulation, thereby reducing logistics costs
  • Zero requirement for cooking – minimum impact on the environment and precious resources
  • Formulated with a focus on bioavailability and bio efficacy – nutrients that the body can recognise (see), absorb and process (use)
  • FSSC22000 certified (Halaal and Kosher)

e’Pap provides the body with the most important respective micronutrients to support proper physical, psychological and emotional functionality.

Without the most important vital micronutrients the inevitable consequences are stunting, hidden hunger, poor learning, fatigue, sickness, job loss and lower efficacy in medical treatments.

In times of emergency “hidden hunger” becomes even more critical as most emergency “feeding” focuses on macro nutrients and carbohydrates.

e’Pap goes a long way to help address the rising global catastrophe of ‘hidden hunger’ thanks to its optimal nutrient content and absorption.

“The present food chain must move away from its present focus of only “yield, branding and stomach filling” of macro nutrients.

If we are to survive as a species, the food chain’s role must be re-defined as a delivery system for nutrients focused on achieving nutrition security.

The aim is to effectively create nutrient replete communities.
Nutrition security that creates nutrient replete communities will require doing the job right, with less.”

What is hidden hunger?

Hidden hunger (micronutrient deficiencies) occurs when the quality of food that people eat does not meet their micronutrient requirements, so they are not getting the essential vitamins and minerals they need for their growth and development.

It affects two billion people across the globe.

“e’Pap has changed a lot of things at school level, learners are attending school daily and listening attentively in class as evidenced by improvement in performance.”
Headmaster Zimbabwe Rural Primary School

“One family is much better now because since starting e’Pap they can work better and have started making and selling home-made bricks.  Others could now do their own ploughing.”
Pastor Siziba, Church Nutrition Programme

“Our elderly residents now have new vitality.  Those who had lost hope, were apathetic and tired are now even working in the garden.
What a blessing this e’Pap is!”
